About Measured for Good

Built by someone who understands nonprofit work from the inside

Hi, I’m Stephanie Barker, owner of Measured for Good!

Measured for Good is an independent consulting practice that brings together evaluation, strategy, research, and firsthand nonprofit leadership experience. I have worked with data and evidence for over 15 years in both academic and non-academic settings. I have also been the person responsible for programs, partnerships, budgets, funder expectations, board communication, and the daily reality of keeping mission-driven work moving forward with not enough help to go around.

That perspective shapes everything here. Evaluation should help people make sense of their work, improve what they are doing, and tell the truth about their impact in ways that are accurate, useful, and grounded — instead of just feeling like another impossible assignment.

The Measured for Good Approach

Not less rigor. Rigor that fits.

Good evaluation does not have to look like a university research study to be meaningful. It has to be clear, useful, ethical, and honest about what the evidence can and cannot say.

Grounded in Nonprofit Reality

Because this work is shaped by firsthand nonprofit leadership experience, evaluation support is designed around real constraints: limited time, limited capacity, competing priorities, and constant pressure to show results.

Focused on What Matters

The process starts with understanding the decisions your organization needs to make, the questions you need to answer, and the capacity you actually have.

Built for Real Life

Together, we build practical systems with clear indicators, consistent tools, thoughtful interpretation, and real context — not oversized methods that collapse under the weight of everyday nonprofit work.
